400 raised and lowered dots forming a spiral from the proportions of an avocado.
Avocado Spiral translates the nutritional composition of an avocado into a textile structure. Each of the 400 dots represents 0.25% of the whole: 2% protein, 15% fat, 4% carbohydrates and 79% other content. The spiral pattern turns these proportions into a visual field of changing color and pile height.
Hand-tufted in 100% New Zealand wool, the rug uses five green tones and different pile heights to make the information physical and tactile. Lighter colors have higher pile, while darker colors are lower.
